At Tailored Healthcare Staffing, our team of recruiters takes pride in working with top-notch Super Nurses. From time to time, though, one nurse stands above the rest by going well beyond his or her normal duties and putting patient needs before their own.
Please join THS in celebrating one such travel nurse who recently received a DAISY Award for her incredible work: Morgan Olerich, BSN, RN!
Here’s what Morgan’s recruiter had to say about her:
“Morgan is all-around an amazing human. She loves her job as a pediatric nurse and you rarely hear her complain. She is always willing to go the extra mile and do what needs to be done for her patients. She’s currently a float nurse in Connecticut, so everyday she’s on a different unit. This is a tough job for travelers because they usually have not been oriented on every floor. On one of her first shifts at the facility, she was floated to the emergency room, which was new for her. Some would have been unwilling to be on a unit they’ve never worked, but she was up for the challenge. She told me that if she felt like she could provide the care needed to the patients, she would do it. I could not ask for a better nurse.”
And here is what one of Morgan’s patients said about her in a recent survey:
“Morgan was an excellent nurse. According to my son, she was the best nurse he ever had. She spoke to him directly and made him feel important and taken care of. She said she is a traveling nurse, which is bad for [the facility] because she is an asset! Please tell her both my son and I said thank you for making a bad situation in the middle of the night that much better.”
From all of us at THS, we extend our thank you to Morgan for her exceptional attitude and unwavering dedication to patient care no matter the challenge.
The DAISY Award honors the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day. The award was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, a patient who passed away in late 1993 after being diagnosed with the auto-immune disease ITP. Patrick’s family brainstormed about what they could do in his memory, and vividly recalled the skillful and compassionate care he received from his nurses during his eight-week hospitalization. To say thank you to nurses everywhere, they established a recognition program known today as The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses.
