Tailored Healthcare Staffing (THS) wants to provide travel nurses with the best working experience possible and has hired its first Chief Nursing Officer to do so.
Tailored Healthcare Staffing’s parent company, Health Carousel, has added a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to its growing executive team. Earl Dalton MHA, MSL, RN, NEA-BC brings over 20 years of acute hospital experience to Health Carousel. Dalton will provide guidance and best practices from his vast nursing leadership experience to enable the company to better serve its working travel nurses. His hiring was featured in both the Business Courier and Staffing Industry Analyst.
The CNO role will help bring some important advantages to THS nurses, including:
Prior to Health Carousel, Dalton worked for TriHealth for five years in various roles finishing as the Director of Emergency Services for a 380-bed acute care facility. TriHealth is one of the largest employers in greater Cincinnati with over 11,000 employees. Under his leadership, the emergency department won the Lantern Award at TriHealth for exceptional practice and innovation in an emergency department setting. Furthermore, Dalton won the 2015 Mount St Joseph Distinguished Nurse Director award and helped bring a culture of shared governance and Magnet designation to his teams.
Before TriHealth, Dalton was the director of emergency and critical care services at Duke University Health System and was awarded the First Hand Hygiene Leadership Champion by Duke Health’s system wide infection control committee. Health Carousel’s leadership is thrilled to add Dalton’s talents to the executive team.
“Who can better understand the day-to-day pain points of our clients more than a fellow nursing executive?” asked Chief Executive Officer Bill DeVille. “His experience in nursing leadership will help us provide a better experience for our working travel nurses.”
Dalton is widely recognized as a thought leader in clinical nursing leadership. He was published in Customer Care News for innovation in customer experience back in 2015 and invited to speak to a national audience at the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses on “Innovative transformational leadership” in October of 2012.
“I am excited to join Health Carousel and contribute to its significant growth,” said Dalton. “I look forward to working with our clinical professionals and hospital executives to build a better overall nursing experience.”
Earl received his BSN from the University of North Carolina and both his Masters of Health Administration and Masters in the Science of Leadership from Pfeiffer University.
